SUMMARY:
3i summit and LO activities fundraiser (‘over the phone’) and connector – volunteer you will be responsible for raising awareness about the organization (its projects and activities) and raising of money and other resources for its activities. You will assist to sponsorship committee coordinator with the sale of sponsorship packages for 3i summit and other LO projects by targeting various companies, organizations and associations, LO current participants and alumni. You will attend volunteer and committee meetings and do the majority of your work over the phone.
TIME REQUIREMENTS:
Expected volunteer time per week: 2-4/week from now (July 2010) until the end of 2nd week of December 2010
Participation at committee’s meetings: 2 hours every second week
Participation at the training session (2-3 hours, only once)
You will be working from your home, therefore having a landline would be a must.
What are going to be your tasks?
Contact businesses, private individuals, organizations, LO participants and alumni by telephone in order to solicit sales for our projects and services, and/or to request donations for charitable causes.
Explain products or services and prices, and answer questions from customers.
Obtain customer information such as name, address, and payment method, and enter orders into computers (+ insert these information into a database).
Record names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects contacted.
Adjust sales scripts to better target the needs and interests of specific individuals.
Obtain names and telephone numbers of potential customers from sources such as telephone directories and lists obtained from other organizations.
Answer telephone calls from potential customers who have been solicited through advertisements.
Telephone or write letters (incl. e-mail) to respond to correspondence from customers or to follow up initial sales contacts.
Maintain records of contacts, accounts, and orders.
Conduct client or market surveys in order to obtain information about potential customers.
Deliver prepared sales talks, reading from scripts that describe products, projects or services, in order to inspire potential customers to purchase a product or service or to make a donation.
Knowledge requirements
