Skate, Walk or Wheel a Kid To Camp

Between Friends Club recreation for people with disabilities will be having their annual fundraiser, Skate, Walk or Wheel a Kid to Camp on March 13, 2010 at the Olympic Oval. Participants at this fundraiser raise donations to send a child with a disability to Camp Bonaventure. Camp Bonaventure is a day camp for youth with disabilities; this camp focusing on challenge oriented activities and ensuring that each individual is accepted for their unique abilities!

In 2009 it cost Between Friends Club $845 to send a child to camp for one two-week session; due to this annual fundraiser we were able to cut the cost of EVERY camper to $535. In addition to cutting the cost for every child, this fundraiser also provides further subsidies to families that require extra support. This ensures that no child has to miss the opportunity to go to Camp due to financial constraints.
